Wheels of the Soul Project

For centuries, spiritual cultures all over the world have identified with the geometric beauty of the circle and its center. Mandalas are beautiful and ornate works of art that have the power to relax, heal, and focus our energy. Come join us at Wheels of the Soul and learn a bit of the history and significance behind these powerful symbols. Sit with us for a while and enjoy some fruit salad and peaceful ambiance. Color your own mandala to keep, give as a gift, or add it
to our collective art project. We will take donated mandalas and form them into one giant symbol of our unity, each individual piece's
beauty adding to the splendor of the whole. In the spirit of participation, we welcome poets, musicians, fire dancers, and ceremonial facilitators to add to the fun by performing their favorite works or guiding us in open-minded spiritual ceremonies. When our
collective mandala has been finished, we will offer up our collective prayers, energies, and our symbol of unity to the flame and allow our
intentions to flow out into the cosmos. If you'd like to help with materials, coloring supplies, fruit, or even suggestions, drop me a line: in_jebus_we_trust@hotmail.com.

THE BLAZING COFFEE BEAN

Come relax in our little coffee shop (no, not the Amsterdam version!) by kicking back on a couch or chair and enjoying a fresh cup of flavored coffee, hot chocolate or tea, brewed fresh from early in the morning till well after our beautiful, blazing sun has set! Just think of your old college “hole in the wall” coffee house where you either met friends before class for a cup of joe, or relaxed in the evening to wind down and play a game of backgammon. We will also have a coffee table set up where you can enjoy a friendly game of checkers, chess, backgammon or cards while sipping on something yummy and warm! Should you need to contact me for any reason, please email Jennifer: lastrada14@aim.com.

Can't wait to see everyone!

Jennifer

THEME CAMP NAME: NAKED CITY II

Naked City I - Afterburn, ’07 was such a success, we’re coming back with Naked City II – Pre-Heat 08. Had a fabulous time “hanging out” with new Florida Burners friends and hooking up with old buddies from Burningman.

We’re having a class called “Let’s Git Nekkid!” on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM to share information on clothing-optional beaches and resorts all over the world. Find out about the closets one near you. If you can’t make the class, just drop in anytime for some iced coffee and get to know the naturists in the neighborhood. Get some sun on those buns! Sunning lawn available so bring your towel or blanket and relax the way the Seminole Indians used to.

Plans are being made for camp layout for Burningman 2008. If you’re planning on going and looking for a home base, let’s talk. Naked City III is sponsoring a Peanut & Butter and Jelly Camp (clothing-optional, of course) and to celebrate our Americana. Right now there are nine of us, so there’s room for growth. Also, if you have a small theme camp, perhaps you’d like to become a camp of Naked City III.

Sponsored by the Florida Naturist Association. For more information, please e-mail norma_sffb@earthlink.net.

East of Scrap Eden

Harken! You poets and singers,
Artists and dream-bringers...
Come into the Garden...
The Garden of Scrap Eden
Where old is made new
Rusted, now divine
Where lyrics lilt on air
Whilst we sip our wine.

Re-create, re-envision,
re-vamp and revise
what's trash becomes artistic treasure
before your own eyes!

(ok ... enough of that)

you know how TTITD has Scrap Eden?
and remember the movie "East of Eden"?

well, welcome to:
East of Scrap Eden
('cuz that is where we are...
is that the other side of Orange?)

a place for people to showcase their scrap/recycled/junk-funked and reworked art
a place for people to do their poetry slam
a place for singers and songwriters to gather in the twilight and sing to people relaxed on pillows and carpet as they gaze at the unique art around them...

and why does this possibly concern you?
(well, besides the obvious that you are artists and i think you may have some "junk" that can definitely be funked! not saying you have junk... but maybe rusty hedge clippers that were left outside accidentally get an interesting paint job...or maybe they are clipping something and are a political artistic statement... or maybe they become the eyes and mustache of a very eclectic looking gentleman... who knows? you're the artist!)

This Garden of unusual reworked delights will also serve to host poetry slams, improptu whatevers and your small little gathering with friends ... it's your space! Do what thou wilst!

And around dusk on Saturday there shall be (fer those interested) a Partly Pretentious Poetry Party... (y'know...where you come half-dressed in a creatively altered gown with no make-up and bare feet, or wear a tie, no shirt, boxers and bitch boots with a top hat... and read some of your favorite poems or monologues -- with sincerity or with full-on pompous actor vigor!)... and drink wine (or whatever your passionate poison may be) and enjoy the art, the people and all that makes our Phlorida our own little Eden. (yeah.. that would be all of you!)

(I will have some "re-worked"/recycled display "columns" --although please feel free to bring your own method of displaying your creation--, but if you have paintings and such, you may wish to bring your own easel or other such method to share your art. Also if you are planning on bringing any considerably large or fire containing art for the Garden... please check with Storm first regarding proper placement)

Bubble Camp

Bubbles, bubbles everywhere, and not a drop to drink (HA!). Welcome to Bubble Camp, a celebration of all things bubble. Come stop by and blow some bubbles with our bubble toys, chew some bubble gum, drink some fizzy lifting drink and bask in the glory of the giant sound emitting bubble booth. Run run run all you can, there is no escaping the bubble!

Purple Passion Palace

The other side of orange? That’s a horse of another color, as in the color purple.

Speaking of purple, that reminds me: Don’t forget to stop by the Purple Passion Palace!

Lounge in our comfy Psychedelic Disco Chill Space, maybe watch some movies, pop some popcorn or listen to music.

The other side of orange? As in Apples? Stop by the Purple Passion Palace Saturday Night, we’ll have the caramel fountain going with apples and other goodies to dip and eat!

Like partying late and sleeping late? Wake up hungry but don’t feel like cooking? Us too. So, we’ve decided to host Brunch because Breakfast comes too early! Join us for Pancakes at the Purple Passion Palace at high noon on Sunday, a perfect way to wind down from a great week end and you have none of the muss or fuss. We cook it, serve it and clear away the moop….and we promise, no burnt Oranges!
